Paganism The Earth Religion
By Lady Silverwolf

Paganism:  Conjures up the thoughts of evil, Witches, Devil Worship, and all the things we were taught to fear.  But paganism is growing rapidly today, a very old ancient belief system that is emerging once again.

What is paganism?  Why is it once again becoming "popular" after lying dormant for so many years?  Pagans believe that no one-belief system is correct, and everyone has the right to their own spiritual path.  Native American teachings are of pagan traditions, so are many other belief systems but they all follow a basic commonness, they follow a wheel, they follow the seasons, Life is a circle, we are born, we live we die and we are reborn again... Just as nature recycles so do we.  We are part of the universe, part of the rebirthing process.

Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is:
"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or in private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice worship and observance."

There are three basic principles that reflects the basic belief
system of paganism:

1.  Love for Nature and Kinship with Nature: rather than the more customary attitude of aggression and domination over Nature; respect for the life force and its ever-renewing cycles of life and death.

2. Pagan Ethic: "Do what you wilt, but harm none".  Each individual is responsible for discovering his/her own true nature and developing it fully.  This also means not only to harm any other human being, but anything of nature.  We respect all life and its cycles.

3. The Divine as both the God/Goddess, representing both life forces.  God is neither male nor female, but both.

My feelings about so many "coming out of the broom closet" : There is definitely a change taking place, Most are confused of which spiritual path to take, feeling a lack of connection with the higher power.  There is a feeling of coming home… a connection to something… Also this is a time now when we need to "help balance the earth once again, so we come forth.. To help the Mother, the Father, and all of their children, including the plants, the animals…

The word Pagan means those who are country dwellers, they were the last to convert to Christianity. This  word and the people it is associated with have  been so misconstrued over the years., now with bright blessings and loving light may we now come into our own time, Once again
